Himesh Reshammiya was picked up by the cops late last night. The famous ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ singer has been reported for singing in a very irritating voice and causing disturbances for innocent children who are already suffering from examination fever. Himesh was kept at the central police station for the entire night and was made to hear his own music in a closed room at full volume. He apparently broke down and swore not to sing again. People have been making allegations against him for generating fear amongst small children who were being made to watch him in every next music video on national television. His habit of not bathing and using the same cap, clothes and an unshaven look has been scaring women off television. The district magistrate has ordered a probe into the allegations and if the charges are proved, Himesh might have to go through a horrifying death penalty.

Himesh Reshammiya is such a pain…or rather, his voice is. I mean,
fine, his Aashik Banaya song was a hit. So? He’s getting all sorts
of offers just because of that….and I so hate his “Tera suroor”

Yea I liked aashiq when it first
came out but then it just became the same melody and the same nasal
tones. Its worse cuz everyone is playing it and u hear it everywhere
u go. He should atleast try doing something a little different?

crap, These guys should be gunned down. With all due respect to RGV i
must say its a disgrace that someone like HR is going to sing
Mehbooba in Sholay II.Boss c’mon, RDB and HR…..? no way. Shoot him

Himesh is a pretty good singer, just a little too nasal. If you don’t like him singing on tv, there are only three things you can do.

I hate Himesh not because he is popular or critically acclaimed (A.R. Rehman and Pritam are the same, but I like most of their music and respect them). I hate Himesh only for these two reasons:
1. HE DOESN’T DESERVE IT
2. HE NASAL SINGS
Let me explain…
He’s like the male Brittany Spears of India, but worse. He’s been an OK composer for nearly a decade, with few notable good stuff like in Humraaz, but he’s only started singing since Aashiq Banaya Aapne. It’s just like one day he was singing in the bathroom and grew his ego thinking “Hey, I like my voice, it’s different”, yet he probably had no idea what a nasal voice is, which I’ll get to in a second. So he throws his voice into ABA and it’s so strange that people notice, suddenly it’s a hit and he just won’t stop his horrible racket any more. He’s never put hard work into being a singer, he’s never had any training in singing (yet he’s starting a school for music… wow), and now he’s butchering some of his good music with his yells and cries.
Do a google search on Nasal Voice, it’s friggen related to diseases. It’s almost unanimously shunned and looked down upon to sing through your nose. Everyone he and a lot of Indian publications have mentioned to also sing through their nose is completely wrong (Elvis, Kishore Kumar, and other Legends NEVER sang through Nasal).
To top this all off, with his change to singing, he changed his look and put his ugly mug all over his music (that’s totally my opinion about his face, I know some people who adore Pugs and Bull Dogs… I find those people insane :P). He dawned a busted old cap, a beard, and basically came out like a sad, old, heartbroken, “feel sorry for meee…”, puppy. Together with his cries and moans of singing, his new image sold like hotcakes. I personally think that whenever he has to slam his eyes shut until they tear and look up at the ceiling throughout his entire live performances, he looks pretty unprofessional.
He’s really making some good movies hard to watch for me… if he wasn’t this popular I’d probably keep my opinions to myself, but he’s friggen taken over. I haven’t been this annoyed walking through the streets and hearing popular music from Radios since Brittany Spears, seriously. He’s influencing the industry and it’s gone too far into bugging me. I thought he was a Fad like Adnan Sami’s pop career was, but I am worried that this is not so anymore.
He’s gonna make RGV’s Sholay tough to sit through, he’s gonna make the soon to be anticipated Apne with the 3 Deols tough to anticipate, and he’s gonna keep wailing into the next decade.
All of you who love his voice for some odd reason, you have no reason to attack us for voicing our opinions on Himesh, you know he’s gonna be here yelling into your ears for a long time. Our complaints are, unfortunately for us, pebbles to him.
Why was that reply so long? I’ve never talked about Himesh before, but I’ve hated his singing since Aap Ka Suroor. I’ve been thinking about why I hate his music so much and I’ve never shared it until now. I don’t post on an India/Desi messahe board AND I WILL NEVER BLOG. This was the only place I could share my thoughts.
This guy is just a businessman people, he has got no sense of art. He keeps doing what gets him the quick crores, not what makes timeless music. If he stuck to composing it’d be ok, but putting his voice into the stuff just killed it. It’s the biggest surprise that this stuff is this popular, it really shows the kind of taste India has (Dhoom 2 is another piece of crap that shows India’s odd tastes).
This is all cheap pop and MTV, nothing more. That’s why I call him Brittany Spears of India. What she was to America is what Himesh is to India.
A.R. Rahman is the new music legend of India, not this dude. Sukhwinder Singh is India’s legendary male singer at the moment. Himesh is one of the least worthy. Its sad that this country’s “top music artists” is a Navel Singer and some guy (pritam) who copies music from other countries (other than American usually, so that’s why it’s good music, but Dhoom 2 is the exception).
So, you can see, I can go on forever beating this guy’s busted cap into the ground… it feels really great to finally get this crap off my chest.
How come its like almost no other person replying here can type/speak properly? There is internet slang, short forms, and typos, but then there’s also random, incoherent keyboard slapping thats a total waste in every way and for everyone. Himesh is catchy and different, thats what I see most fans say. but how can that mean he’s a good artist? I saw a commercial for chocolate today and it had a catchy jingle that was different, does that mean it’s good music? It also got damn annoying really fast too. Anyways, its the singing mostly that is at fault, not his composing.

those that like him like that style, thats their standard, they are not comparing to anything,they just think hes great, thats ok
you can love him, its ok, but that doesnt mean you are trained in classical music or understand the melody in a persons voice, you like his style, thats cool, whatever you call it, rock or pop, if thats your taste then so be it
and those that dont like him, its because they are probably comparing to past singers who had natural melody and ripples in their voices, a certain sweetness in their voice which cannot be learned, its God given, if you have natural beauty in your voice you cant learn
no matter how much training the great singers of the past had, you could still tell who was singing, and how? because theres something called tone of voice, which noone can learn, its given as natural gift when born, thats why Lata jis voice will not sound like asha jis voice innit?
so whatever your taste is, it depends on who you are comparing with, and what is your own knowledge on real melody in a voice, not everyone can become a singer, you either have it or you dont, the rest is personal choice
some peoples taste is slightly higher and some people make do with average because thats all they know or its their own standard, they judge by other factors too, like the media hype, the glamour , etc etc
if you close your eyes and listen to different singers, you will then know whose voices have the most natural melody and sweetness in them

Himesh Ji sings very well and acts very well. Pls do not doa ny thing to Himesh Ji. I know that Himesh Ji did not do any thing wrong and even if he did than he will agree to it. But i think that Himesh Ji was caught by the Police that was not good. Himesh Ji is a rock star . Himesh Ji pls just foucs on your work and don’t lidsten to pepole what say to you that you are mean or anything of that sort. Just listen from one ear and tale it out from the second ear.
