10 comments September 9th, 2006It’s official. I’m addicted. Please guide me through a de-addiction camp as soon as possible. I’m so helpless right now. Here are my top 5 addictions currently!

No matter how much junk food calories I swallow in a day I still love the jumbo burgers with crispy fries, self made club sandwiches, Mc Donald’s burgers, KFC’s fried chicken and my list is endless.

Pesticides or not cola is a must have. I still love that great Coca Cola taste and believe in their we-are-safe commercials. I’m not done until I have my 600ml of Coke everyday. It’s fattening, it’s killing and yet it’s so addictive.

It’s a season of strikes. We’ve had the full taste of everything from dirty campus politics to masala chic fights and even spiders in meals (not mine!). To start with the beautiful MCM Chandigarh girls went on a total strike after one of their students was slapped after being found using a cell phone in college. The outrage was tremendous amongst the girls, which makes me wonder why they call girls ‘hot’. Mercury rising and the girls took to the streets. Dressed in sexy black it was more of a fashion parade than a protest (that’s for the guys!). The girls have demanded that cell phones be allowed in college, professors to apologize again and rules be amended to let them escape the college gates before noon. Now the last one simply came in from nowhere! But then why wouldn’t you want to fly away from those chains of continuos boring lectures and freak out!
The guys have their own way. Some student leaders down there in Ujjain had all the guts to beat a professor to death. Armed with heavy political support and all the muscles they built up while growing up, they certainly used their power to the height of stupidity. They went totally out of hand and cases like these must be fully condemned.
Meanwhile somewhere up here in Punjab, there were some other issues. Uncooked meals, spiders in rice (wonder if anyone had those and became Spiderman!), lack of basic facilities in the mess as well as very strict rules made the hostlers very angry. To add to the masala some first year students got together and beat up their seniors who tried to rag them. The hostelers finally got in a fit of rage and that’s when all hell broke loose!

Sad enough life isn’t a Ricky Martin concert and high school isn’t an Enrique’s touching track. Finding love remains a total fanstasy. For love is still a topic as hard to grasp as organic chemistry (actually I can still understand the latter). My and probably billions of other high school students like me are concerned more about how love makes our forty something parents blush at the mere mention of the sweet word. Good enough we have a lot of Bollywood archives lying in our drawers to draw an inspiration from. If it hadn’t been for Bollywood, half of the country wouldn’t have been in love, half of them in love wouldn’t have been sacrificing enough and the remaining wouldn’t have sung duets running around trees (they don’t really do that in real life, do they?).
Some fools wearing stupid clothes with funny accents and a whole lot of moolah in their hidden bank accounts that make up the so called government could ban the topic of love and relationships in movies as well. They’ve done it to smoking, they’ll carry on with drinking and soon we’ll have a guy and a girl sitting miles away simply text messaging romantic numbers to each other. That would be the age of binary love in Bollywood with ‘fully approved by the Government of India’ attached in a golden colored font at the bottom. It appears finding love is going to be an uphill task my lazy ass is going to get annoyed with. Why isn’t love like a pill you could swallow in a moment? Why do we still have to chase chicks in the park, at school, at canteens?

It’s official. August 6 is International Friendship Day. It’s a day when people waste precious hours of the day fooling around chasing the opposite sex and sometimes the same with inexpensive flowers, gifts, toys, chocolates, jewelry and all sorts of impressive give-away! It’s a day when people loosen their wallets and hope for that special someone would realize the virtue of their true friendship and they shall remain true friends forever!
Cut the crap and it’s a day of useless chasing, gifting, impressing and hoping for miracles. The same people forget the color of the flowers you bought for them the very next week. The same people stare at you the very next year as if you were an alien from Mars. The same people somehow forget the amount you spent on them on this very day. In all the day is the next worst to first days at college. Nevertheless here’s a super guide on what to gift this friendship day!
