Dump Moto, Hello Nokia!

I was just in a poetic mood hearing Aatif Aslam all over again, thought I might try my hand at poetry one more time but damn! Anyways my dear loving darling is finally dead. She won’t wake up now. I tried life support, it failed. It won’t be easy to live without her. She’s been with me for more than an year now and breaking up would probably be the last thing on my mind. I can’t help it either. No one was able to rescue my love from technical glitches, IC breakdowns and God knows what!

So now the search begins for a newer, better and ever lasting serious relationship with another cell. Sony Ericsson is exciting, Motorola is a big big ‘NO!’, Samsung is ‘duh!’, LG is ‘touch me not!’. So it’s time to get on the reverse gear back to Nokia. I have a couple of options. I’m being told to keep things simple this time. Mom believes high end sophisticated cell phones are like rich spoilt chicks, one prick there and they’re gone! So I’ve got to get a less expensive, simple looking, easy on features and moreover a ‘nice’ phone. Much like a traditional saree or a suit wearing ‘Seedhi Saadhi’ girl for marriage. I’m down to a couple of these girls I mean phones which are just about perfect. Nice and simple.

Tring Tring! Hello, it’s love!

You’ve had the worst day of your life. College is too hard to get used to. You get stared at by the most unwanted freaks all the time. The lecturers speak in a tone as if they’re trying to seduce you. Monsoon is acting as if he’s in a serious relationship with Gujrat, Maharashtra. Suddenly the cell phone rings again. This time the caller gathers the guts to make use of his speaking abilities. A scared, dark and pathetic voice on the other hand asks for your true friendship and whether you’d mistake to jump into a relationship with them. It’s usual for a girl to get at least 4-5 calls like this everyday.

Ever since cell phones made their way into our pockets we’ve always rejoiced at the very idea of owning a chic gadget. Somehow at times like these we’re only able to curse the people who imported the damn machines in the first place. Unsolicited boyfriend offers is what I call them, these are worse than the usual Chunnus and Munnis selling credit cards, insurance and other crap to you. The callers in these cases have the manners to talk whereas these guys lack the basic etiquettes.

But there’s an Ishy way to get out of the mess!

Nokia N91 is here in India!

Nokia claimed they’ve sold more camera phones than digital cameras and are now hungry to eat up the portable music player market as well! Nokia’s all new N91 is a music monster with a built in 4GB microdrive that can hold an enormous amount of music. Power packed with a ton of other features, N91 is surely my new crush!

The N91 will also have a 2 megapixel camera, and a sliding front panel which reveals the phone’s keyboard. The phone runs on Symbian 9.1, and is packed with features including 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth.

Life without a cell!

Thanks to some great bunch of sleepy techies working at Spice, I had to go through a blood sucking terrifying experience of life without a working cell phone connection. The company’s horrifying customer care has been forwarding my concerns for over two weeks now. Yet, no sign of land! So I almost drowned into the high stupidity levels of customer support, process in-charges and some not-so-kind senior sleepy heads at Spice. Life without a cell phone isn’t possible, especially for me. I could survive without food for a few days but cell phone, noway! With only a facility to receive incoming calls it felt nothing worse then being on a unreliable dialysis machine with both kidneys failing! People who revolve around my orbits happen to master the art of missed calls!. So with the super facility of no outgoing calls or text messages even the incoming calls feature hurts. A lot of those artists are now really disappointed when I couldn’t call them back. A lot them missed my not-worth-it text messages, a lot of them seem to have got lost, a lot of them are angry with me, a lot of them don’t feel they still remember me….
But hey! The connection is working now and for the past one hour, I’m sending text messages informing my not-so-important existence on this planet!

Sony Ericsson W700i Walkman Phone

Now here’s a new Sony Ericsson baby! The 8th entry into the Walkman Phones category, the new W700i features more than just playing music off the ground. The titanium colored phone includes 256MB of onboard storage with a capability of expanding memory using Memory Stick Duos. It also features a 2 megapixel camera with support for e-mail and bluetooth.
The phone features a special music mode wherein you can only play music without transmitting. Along with video capture it supports 3GPP and MPEG-4 video file formats. Expected to be available by Q2 this year, this one is sure to burn a hole in my pocket!
