Dataone: Overlapped Free Usage Billing

There has been a a lot of apprehension about overlapping free usage after the free usage hours (2-8) with most of the BSNL Dataone users. My little experience seems to be a positive one!
My usage for the month of October included an overlapped entry from 6.59.44 to 8.27.04 on 23rd October 2005. The data transfer was roughly 131MB. My usage went something like this;

Total Usage (Excluding night unlimited & Overlapped) 902MB
Usage (Including overlapped free usage) 1092MB

And usage as per BSNL bill received 1005MB

Now that’s surprising. This clearly shows they’ve done some adjustments to extract free usage so that the user is not billed for it. I was expecting getting charged for the minor excess in usage but I’ve been billed the regular 500 bucks!

BSNL Dataone seems to have impressed me this time!
