Munching chips and sipping cola during months of vacations after the board exams I seriously had no idea about how college would feel like. I’ve always had a very rough idea about college from the early days of growing up. Watching the young likes of Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty flirt with innocent classroom babes and poke fun at the professors, I thought college would be more of a dream. A place where you could walk freely, wear anything, flirt, enjoy spicy samosas and colas, shout out loud, misbehave in the class, get away with pranks and hang out with friends.
Honestly speaking, that was a total fantasy. One week into college I feel like I’ve been tied up to this ugly uncomfortable chair with nails coming out from everywhere hurting my innocent hips. The lecturers never arrive on time and the blackboard is always too messed up to be upto the ‘readable’ mark. The fifty minutes of each lecture sound like someone standing in on a small platform talking French to a class of sixty, all of them have no idea of what the freak of nature is shouting about and still keep nodding our heads in vain.

Long drives are passe. India Gate isn’t romantic enough. Janpath shopping isn’t fascinating anymore. So how do three youngsters make the most of alcohol in their brains and gallons of gasoline in their car? They decide to take it on the world’s largest democracy. They decide to meet the man himself, the Prime Minister of the nation Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The media may not be clear about the young intentions and the security agencies might have their own suspicions but the three who made it inside seem to be too ignorant about it. They believe they simply wanted to meet the Prime Minister. They didn’t seem like protesting against reservations or the recent Indian blogosphere ban. They didn’t belong to any Lashkars from across the border as well. They were just interested in meeting the Prime Minister.

The Munnabhai team is back with a sequel to bomb the box-office yet again with a jam packed blockbuster. The Lage Raho Munnabhai team comprises of the regulars Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani except for Shantanu Moitra boarding the music wagon and Anu Malik missing it altogether. Swanand Kirkire manages the lyrics after penning down some highly acclaimed songs in Parineeta.
Coming to the music it’s the usual Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s melody that’s definately worth the smiling Gandhis you’ll spend on buying the audio CD. The music is crisp, melodious, soulful and definately a must have! Lage Raho Munnabhai comprises of eight tracks including one two remixes and one instrumental. The music offers the perfect backbone to the move’s essence. The style, the whistles and the chorus simply adds to the spice of the whole Lage Raho Munnabhai gravy. So will it ring a bell in everyone’s ear drums? Kya mammu?!

The first thing that comes to your mind once you sit down on an uneasy and uncomfortable seat in a cheap theater is ‘The movie better be good or else..’ After generating some hype with the title Golmaal was expected to be a laugh riot. Does it deliver a balanced nutrition for a hungry movie lover? Yes, to a lot of extent!
Ajay Devgan might need to consider his birth certificate for her needs to reminded he’s growing older! Ajay was never made for comedies. He’s best when it comes to typical Prakash Jha’s Bihari flicks but comedy is a big no-no for the macho man. Tushar Kapur is somewhat fine. Though I was happy to know he isn’t going to speak in the entire movie but he still managed to be a nusance at times. He’s grown up as an actor and suits the role perfectly. Golmaal is an out to out Arshad Warsi movie! From start till the end if anything makes your funny bone tickle, it’s just him! It does seem that with so many actors involved senior Ajay Devgan might overshadow the others and run away with the entire cake but no. Arshad Warsi truly steals the show. Paresh Rawal’s talent hasn’t been used well. He could have done much better but the screenplay made him dumb. The fourth guy, I didn’t care to remember his name, the one in Rang De Basanti, he’s quite good as well. He’s a born actor with some skills! Comedy is his playground and me may not be the man of the match here but he certainly does play his part quite well! Rimi Sen is just a bush in the garden. Unnesccessary waste of the financer’s smiling Gandhis, she fails to explain her role in the entire flick. The music is fine. It doesn’t make you wanna run and grab a cola.
On the whole a good three hour timepass flick. Enjoy it your friends, enjoy it with your girlfriend, you’ll have fun watching it! A piece of advice, make sure the seats are comfortable if the movie is worth the three hours of sitting. I could use that advice myself next time! Till then, stay tuned!

So you’ve worked up your way through the dingy high school classrooms and sweat through the three hours non-stop board examinations torture to finally make it to college. After another month of results, manipulations, responses, greetings and arguments you’ve worked hard to get into a college. Running after admission forms, sitting and waiting endlessly for counselling sessions, gulping litres of cola in the hot Indian summer but finally it’s a time to relax. You’ve made it to college and you think the tension phase of your life is over. Well, that’s not true!
You might have made it to college because your dad had connections, you had spare money in the backyard, there weren’t much applicants for the course you applied for, nobody else turned up for counselling or may be on the sole base of merit! Whatever be the reason, it’s a past now. Nobody’s going to care how charming, cute and intelligent you were in your growing years in the high school. There are better things people would ask and want to know from you. So here’s Harry’s ultimate Guide to College for you. Keep it safe, read it in the loo or distribute copies to friends I don’t care. Follow the rules and live in peace.
